Why this business was started

I tested the idea on a landing page with some paid traffic and people were clicking the CTA. I then reached out to a manufacturer and found out the cost to manufacture the spice mix. It wasn't very much, so I decided I could either profit or take minimal loss selling it through direct marketing. Either way, I wanted to gain paid traffic experience, learn how to build systems, develop my online sales, and practice my copywriting.

I haven't had the time or energy to work on it in awhile and continue growing it. There's a big opportunity here for someone who has experience with email marketing/paid traffic. A little capital, while not necessary, would help to generate a second offer for customers.

What's involved in running this business

Traffic comes primarily from facebook advertising which is directed to a landing page. Interested prospects then go through a checkout flow to complete their order. Whether purchasing or not, there is an email capture for order updates and marketing information.

Their order details automatically get pushed to 3PL service ShipBob which automatically fulfills the order, typically delivering within 5-7 business days.

The customer then automatically receives emails asking for feedback after a week of use. Marketing emails such as suggested uses, research, feedback, and promotions are sent out periodically to generate repeat business. Customers are also retargeted on Facebook.

There have been no returns and very few complaints, so there isn't much customer service work yet.

The email list would provide a good opportunity to find new products. You can also leverage different marketing angles to see which provide the best results and develop a product which matches that need.

Occasionally, you have to place a bulk order and get them shipped to the 3PL facility. Most of the responsibility is marketing.

    How to grow this business

    Leverage the email list better, use influencers more, add in similar products (there's plenty of possibilities here) - especially products requiring more frequent purchase, build a brand. Customers love the spice mix (no returns or refunds requested yet).
