I decide to start the business because I loved taking on a task that could save the earth for a very little price. Replacing plastic is something I did personally and to replace an everyday item like straws is something that can change the world and empower myself as an entrepreneur.

I have decided to sell because I cannot commit to the time needed to reaching out on social media and our abundant email list. I thought I would but I can't. I am currently working on an online newsletter that I would like to grow and it needs all of my attention. Shopify values this business at $66,000. This a complete steal for the next owner.
What's involved in running this business
Filling orders from the distributor and maintaining contact with customers and the distributor.
To fulfill orders I simply send my supplier a CSV file through Skype. I would provide you with my suppliers contact. He has a very quick turnaround time, even for the biggest of orders.
You do not have to ever ship or touch an item unless you choose to. I would reach out to influencers because that will help drive the business.

How to grow this business
I believe this business has a very high ceiling in terms of where it can go. For instance, there is only one product I sell in the store, that is straws. If you focused on diversifying into other environmentally friendly products and\or bought products from the same supplier...you could really double and triple the revenue. Also focus on return customers. Right now our returning customer rate isn't high at all.
Focus on the email list. I have sent out 1 mass email but you can do way more by offering discount and other products with a cut of the profits for the an affiliate who can help sell products. The email list is over 10,000 customers.
Another huge opportunity is using social media platforms to advertise. We've made almost all of our sales through our Instagram. I'm not a Twitter person but if you are that's even more revenue.
Also I started the Facebook page but I haven't really engaged with it. I'm an Instagram person so I stick to what I know.
I would also use pinterest to drive customers. I learned that alot of people use pinterest which I didn't know before this.
Skills to have
The specific skills you will need is to know how to make an Excel file from orders which Shopify makes very easy in their store. I will definitely walk you through that. Also have a basic level of using social media. You don't have to be an expert, you just have to know how to reply and post pics. I have setup all three accounts so you won't have to do that. I will also walk you through the social media aspect. After this experience I have learned how to ship orders and reach out to billions of users on social media.
