Hi, I started this business as my first entry into eCommerce, and specifically dropshipping. I was at a time in my life when I was trying to learn how eCommerce sites work. I really like the home decor industry, so I chose area rugs as my niche. The store has done quite well and just needs a little love to become a really big profit house.
The reason of selling this business
With my toddler children and some other business related opportunities, I'm unable to give this store the time and love it needs to really flourish and grow. There's a LOT of potential for big profit in this store, but I just don't have the time or passion for it at the moment.
What's involved in running this business
This store has a ton of potential with a steady year round product of area rugs. It's a pure drop shipping model, so there are no upfront costs or warehouse needed. All you need to do is update inventory once a year by getting in touch with the Account Reps from the various rug manufacturers, and dropship orders (meaning, take the orders you get and just enter them into the manufacturer's website and they ship the rug to your customer!) To generate traffic to the site, I use Google PLAs (product listing ads using long tail keywords) for highly targeted traffic. In order to convert the traffic, I offer a 15% off discount at my site which converts really well and still leaves an excellent profit margin. Most customer interaction is done via email, while some is done via phone. No additional product research of customer research is needed. The long tail keywords bring in the highly targeted traffic that's ready to buy.
