Our mission is to make and provide products the fitness enthusiast actually need and use. Our specialty and focus are grip gear such as grip chalk(powder, balls, blocks, liquid, gloves, straps etc.). The gap we wanted to fill was that South Africa needed a platform to easily get their hands on good quality and affordable fitness gear.

Why should someone buy this store?

Established brand with a solid reputation. 10% of customers are repeat customers. All chalk products are imported to South Africa with no-name or international branding, its expensive and difficult to get hold of. Olympia Grip imports directly from a manufacturer with original Olympia Grip branding. The online store and distribution system makes sales and operations very easy. How can the future owner improve the business?

The current base of operations is based in Bloemfontein, which is centrally located in South Africa. This requires shipping of stock to Bloemfontein as well as shipping products to clients. Shipping makes profit margins smaller and the products more expensive. Shipping also make it difficult to compete on price with products in larger cities. The future owner can relocate the base of operations to a bigger city. This will reduce costs. In a bigger city there will be access to a much bigger local client base (ex. crossfit clubs, gyms, athletic clubs, etc.). Google Adwords advertising will be very beneficial, since this is where we had out best results.

What work have you put into the store?

The work that I have put in includes the following: Sourcing a reliable manufacturer; Developing and sourcing branded packaging for products; Developing the Olympia Grip brand and brand art; Developing the Shopify store; Developing automation of store and systems; Researching and sourcing an easy and efficient distribution system(Can ship a product anywhere in South Africa within 2 days or less with a few clicks of a button); Building relationships with clients; Proper product photography; Setup system to easily collect reviews.
