Why this business was started

Saw an opportunity to do better than big department stores. Most of our competition had bad photos, bland prints, and feet and dropseats that left something to be desired. Four years ago we were one of the top 3 sites in this genre. We created our own prints and made a better dropseat and feet than most other vendors.

The reason of selling this business

Divorce has changed this to a 1-person business and it really needs 2 people to thrive. Plus I have 2 other businesses to run.

What's involved in running this business

Answering 3-6 calls a day during Q2 & 3 (less other months). Shipping and storage are handled by a 3rd party. Almost all stock is already in individual poly mailers - so a shipping label is all you need to add. Basic knowledge of Google Adwords is important as that's how most customers find us. I can share my factory contacts in LA & China with a new owner. Patterns for garment sizes 1-8 are included in the sale.

Other details about profit: We have consistently been on the front page of google searches for our core product (currently #8 when searching "adult footed onesies"). Because this is a roomy garment it's ideal for online sales - we have less than 10% returns and the business peaks at holiday season and is incredibly quiet the rest of the year. COGS is about 20% of sales. Before we started using 3rd party fulfillment we just hired temps for busy season.
