Why this business was started

When I was in college, my friends and I never had a good place to buy swimwear from. Everything was either $10 and fell apart at the first wear, or $200 from a “luxury Austrialian label brand” that no college girl had the money for. So I spent an entire week doing a keep dive into these “luxury Austrialian label brands,” found out where they buy their products from, and now use the same manufactures and sell it for $50 instead of $200. I guess a lot of people had the same thoughts as I did, becuase from there it blew up like crazy.

The reason of selling this business

This past April, I took up a pretty demanding career that requires me to work about 60 hours per week. I just don’t have the time anymore that Pirillo requires to keep growing, and my biggest fear is to see it fail just for that reason. So I’ve made the tough decision to let someone else take it over. Although this is not something I want to hand off and walk away. I really want to stay involved, help out and make this something great.

The basics: ordering wholesale of the new collection you want, taking pictures, uploading new products, and shipping out orders as they come in. The details: Running the instagram, facebook, and pinterest. Booking models to have photoshoots to showcase the new products, editing photos, getting into pop-up shops, creating merch, and constantly coming up with new plans to keep the competitive edge.

The other half come in person (Generation Bliss, from the photohshoots, or people reaching out to me personally), so a large majority of the profit comes in cash or through electronic payments. So it may seem that I am asking a lot for my stats, but by the time you factor in the in-person revenue, this is comparable to the other companies listed for sale on exchange.

    How to grow this business

    Now that it has been just over a year and doing really well for it’s age, this is the point where I would take the risk to pour a lot more capital into the business. I would then use that to buy larger quantities of inventory, rent out pop-up shops, and invest in advertising to really see that jump in growth.

    Skills to have

    Knowing about the retail industry, how to edit photos, and how to use shopify really well are all things that would help a new owner acquire the business, but certainly are not things that are absolutely necessary to run it. Also I want to teach the new owner how to do all these things and more.
