I decided to create this store as a side hobby. I love dogs and saw a need for more novelty dog outfits and gadgets to be available to a wider audience. The store was fun to create and to run, but now I just don't have the time to put into it any more due to other commitments.
The inventory is supplied via drop shipping, so there is no risk when it comes to listing products on the site. This is done by Oberlo, so everything is pretty much automated.
I drove traffic to the store via paid ads and social media - I've found that collaborating with dog owners with large followings on Instagram is a good way to spread the word. One method that works is to offer page owners a free item for every 3 sales they refer - you'e then basically getting no-risk promotion of your store.
It has so much potential. So many people like the store and our products, along with our social media feeds. It just needs someone who can spend a little more time on it, which is something I currently do not have. The opportunity to make sales for free via social media is a great one, too.
More money spent in paid ads would obviously be the best option, but other than that, it's continuing to grow the social media channels and reaching out to page owners for either paid or free promo. Also, continuing to grow the email list.
Designed the site, uploaded products, added descriptions, made the site easy to navigate, started to grow an email list with pop-up, grew the brand via social media and made connections with influencers in the dog niche.
