I started this store nearly a year ago to help with adoption expenses. Unfortunately, I have little marketing experience and our baby came 4 weeks early! I no longer have the time, energy, or funds to dedicate toward learning the marketing needed to help this store thrive. Since the store has been set up, I have only been able to put about 2-3 hours per week toward the business, and it needs a bit more time than that, plus someone who already knows marketing. This store is all about decorative throw pillows! Throw pillows are very popular in the home decor field as they can easily be changed out for every season and holiday. That is a bonus for shop owners looking for repeat customers. The pillows currently in the shop are some of the higher-end pillows. The wholesaler has hundreds of others to choose from as well.
This is a dropshipping store, and the wholesaler is located in the United States (most of the pillow covers are made in India). Shipping takes between 7-10 days within the States. So far, I have only offered shipping in the U.S.A. and shipping is free. All that is needed to ship internationally is a third-party international freight account.
Currently, the wholesaler does not integrate with Shopify or other eCommerce platforms, so orders must be put in manually. However, I am not very tech-savvy, so maybe there is a way to automate the process.
Why should someone buy this store?
All of the tedious base work is already done. Everything in the store is already set up, including an email collection campaign through Privy, automated emails, about 30 products are listed with product descriptions, photos, and alt text for the photos. Everything is ready to go. All that is needed is marketing.
How can the future owner improve the business?
Marketing will be the biggest improvement. I have done some marketing through Instagram, but have not really researched Facebook advertisements, Instagram ads, Google AdWords, and any other marketing avenues. New owner could also offer international shipping, add more products, add store reviews, start a blog, and improve product photos to increase sales.
