Business Story

Why this business was started

I purchased this business as a previous customer. The business has existed since 2003 and I wanted to keep it going. There are thousands of T-Shirt businesses out there, but this one has always been focused on clean (often religious) humor. There seems to be a lack of similar businesses offering this type of graphic T-Shirt.

The reason of selling this business

Between a full time job and family, I do not have enough time to dedicate to give Random Shirts the attention it needs to thrive at this time. It turned out to be too ambitious of a task for where I am right now.

What's involved in running this business

Designing and printing the shirts if not outsourcing either of those tasks. Fulfilling orders is as simple as pulling from inventory, packaging, and shipping. Planning and executing social media posts and email campaigns about new products and sales.

    Seller‘s Advice

    How to grow this business

We started to re-brand, and with some effort to see that through while putting time and effort into proper social media as well as setting up to sell shirts at some events to gain more brand recognition and awareness would really put Random Shirts back on track.

    Skills to have

Screen printing the shirts in-house increases the profit margin substantially and allows for much tighter quality control. Also, design skills and marketing knowledge would be beneficial if those jobs are not being outsourced.

Random Shirts started in 2003, and has been on the shopify platform since 2009. Its most successful year on shopify was over $20,000 and has been over $15,000 multiple years. With the right amount of attention, these could absolutely be a slow year for the future of Random Shirts.

    Why use Exchange?

Exchange is the largest and fastest-growing marketplace for Shopify e-commerce stores

    Verified listing data

The revenue and traffic data that you see on each listing is pulled directly from its Shopify account. This means that the data has been verified. Exchange reviews and monitors listings for thorough and accurate information.

    Secure messaging platform

You will be able to communicate with sellers via a secure messaging platform. After you log in and request information from a listing, sellers are notified and have the ability to respond. When you are ready, you can make an offer.

    Encrypted payment capture

Exchange and Escrow.com have partnered together to provide you with safe transactions that have bank encryption, making sure that payment is securely captured. Escrow.com ensures that its users pass verification checks before transactions can proceed.

Take time to inspect the business

Once you submit payment to Escrow.com and the payment has been secured, the funds are held until you confirm that all assets received are as negotiated. You can use the inspection period to ask the seller any extra questions about the business.

    Safe store transfer

When the transaction is finalized, the dedicated migration team at Exchange will begin the process of making you the new owner of the store. Buyers and sellers will be notified via an email from the Exchange team once store transfers have been completed.

    Post-purchase 24/7 Shopify support

Once you log into your Shopify account for the first time and choose a subscription plan, Shopify Support Gurus are available 24/7 to help you with the settings of the store.
