Business Story

Why this business was started

Retort Lingerie was founded on the idea that buying everyday bras and panties shouldn’t have to be a difficult or compromising process. Our mission is to bring you lingerie that makes you feel beautiful and sexy every day, and to present it in a way that emboldens rather than objectifies.

The reason of selling this business

I simply didn't have the time to dedicate to the business. I believe with the proper social media marketing the business could really flourish, but social media is not my forte.

What's involved in running this business

Marketing, buying/ordering, inventory management, fulfillment though any of these could be outsourced if desired.

This business was founded: over 3 years ago
Time to run this business: approximately 1 hour per week

Description

General description

Retort lingerie was created a "retort" to the mainstream lingerie stores that pervade the market. We seek to truly "support the ladies" in every sense of the word.

First, we strive to create a welcoming, inclusive and empowering environment for you to shop in.

Second, by making the shopping process as easy and fun as possible. We work to provide a range of styles to fit your needs while simultaneously not overburdening you with inventory. Want a wire-free bralette? Prefer something with a little more padding? We have you covered. We pride ourselves on bringing you quality brands that are comfortable, beautiful and affordable.

Third, by giving back. Retort Lingerie is proud to donate 1% of all sales to women’s organizations that support our ideals of female empowerment and equality.

Why should someone buy this store?

Retort is fully set-up and ready for you to jump in and take over the reigns. It would be an easy transition for someone looking to get started in e-commerce . The site can easily be expanded to carry an expanded inventory, but comes with a backbone of basics to get you started.

How can the future owner improve the business?

Expanded inventory and better social media marketing.

What work have you put into the store?

The store is fully set up. I hired a graphic and website designer to design the logo, online store and packaging. I also bought and curated merchandise, photographed merchandise and marketing images.

    Why use Exchange?

Exchange is the largest and fastest-growing marketplace for Shopify e-commerce stores

    Verified listing data

The revenue and traffic data that you see on each listing is pulled directly from its Shopify account. This means that the data has been verified. Exchange reviews and monitors listings for thorough and accurate information.

    Secure messaging platform

You will be able to communicate with sellers via a secure messaging platform. After you log in and request information from a listing, sellers are notified and have the ability to respond. When you are ready, you can make an offer.

    Encrypted payment capture

Exchange and Escrow.com have partnered together to provide you with safe transactions that have bank encryption, making sure that payment is securely captured. Escrow.com ensures that its users pass verification checks before transactions can proceed.

Take time to inspect the business

Once you submit payment to Escrow.com and the payment has been secured, the funds are held until you confirm that all assets received are as negotiated. You can use the inspection period to ask the seller any extra questions about the business.

    Safe store transfer

When the transaction is finalized, the dedicated migration team at Exchange will begin the process of making you the new owner of the store. Buyers and sellers will be notified via an email from the Exchange team once store transfers have been completed.

    Post-purchase 24/7 Shopify support

Once you log into your Shopify account for the first time and choose a subscription plan, Shopify Support Gurus are available 24/7 to help you with the settings of the store.
