Retro Gaming was a hobby that quickly turned into a business. It's highly enjoyable interacting with the retro gaming community and assisting with their collecting, repairs and passion. The business started with Global Garage and the supply of high quality replacement power supplies for consoles, then grew into Retro Sales as a platform to sell more items and provide a hub for the community.
The reason of selling this business
I recently had a baby, so my time has become limited and I am considering selling to free up some time but also use the proceeds to invest into other ideas that are fully automated. I will keep running Retro Sales myself until a buyer comes along as it doesn't take up too much time on a day to day basis, however in the long term I would like to direct my energy into some new ventures.

Daily operations are very simply: Watch the inventory and order from suppliers as necessary. Respond to emails, trade in inquiries and buying opportunities, process orders and ship items.
99% of all stock now comes via trade ins. There's no shortage of people contacting the store with loads of retro items for sale. We typically buy large bulk lots of games and consoles to replenish inventory. There's always some "game hunting" via the usual channels but that method of purchasing is very limited.
The store is also now selling more brand new stock than ever before, so the reliance on "used" items is diminishing. The sales growth this year has been mainly due to offing products to the market that no other vendor is offering. Retro Sales has a unique offering which is easily transferred to the new owner.

We've invested heavily in SEO and organic Google rankings so we no longer need to spend a cent on advertising. All of our traffic is organic and has a wide reach all over the net for a vast array of retro gaming keywords. We continue to grow on a daily basis and only minor maintenance is required to keep the store running at it's peak. Rest assured there is no hidden costs behind our success such as expensive Adwords campaigns or other paid promotion.
