The reason of selling this business
This has been an incredibly difficult decision but I currently have too many other projects running to dedicate the necessary time to growing this business.
All the difficult groundwork has been done and the potential is showing. A lot of time has been spent perfecting the pricing & promo strategy. You can see from the screenshot how the average order value has increased over time and I’m happy to discuss this in more detail with the new owner/s.
With the right time and attention this will be a hugely successful brand.

The business has been run completely by a single pair of hands since idea inception until today. It will benefit from additional resource to manage the different areas. General areas of management include:

The business can be run part time, especially if it is taken on as part of a wider lifestyle brand. Otherwise, the more time that’s put in, the greater the return will be.
Please note: there has been very little advertising spend and a few months where I closed the store completely for personal reasons. There have also been many months where I was only able to give minimal attention to the business. Even during these times, organic orders came in. The highest peaks in early & late 2019 reflect the months I was able to run a few Facebook ads and the growth is clear. Basically, if given the proper attention, the sky’s the limit!

How to grow this business
There are many, many opportunities that are yet untapped:
- reach out to local or national restaurants and other hospitality businesses to secure wholesale business (our wholesale sales came from the buyer seeking us out, so imagine what could be achieved with a little proactive effort!)
- expanding the hire ranges to cover more bookings, as well as setting up a dedicated wholesale section or sub site (I have an idea for the hire side which I’m happy to discuss)
- reach out to independent or national retailers to secure listings and additional retail points
- PR/influencer reach out - there is huge interest in these products, with the right strategy there is enormous ROI to be had
Advertising options are largely unexplored. Advertising to date has included a bit of channel testing to root out the most effective channels. So far this is a combination of Facebook network advertising & PPC. Investment in a wider digital marketing plan will show serious rewards.
