Business Story

Why this business was started

I was unfortunate to lose my job while the COVID began so I went ahead and got the website built by a designer which cost me $550 and got a professional graphic designer to make a logo for $100. I wanted it to look like a professional store which it does.

The reason of selling this business

Since the COVID restrictions have now been lifted in my area I’m back at work so with the long hours and having a family it’s difficult to run this business even for an hour a day I cannot give it the time it deserves to grow this to a 10k per month business which would be easy with Facebook ads.

The business has only been open a few weeks and has generated over $4,000 in sales. September was $2,632 and October which doesn't show in the graph is $1,375 at the time of writing this Oct 15th.

The extra benefit with running shoes is that multiple customers have bought multiple products. It also has a 2.38% customer return rate which for such a new business is very respectable. I have tested many products and some good ones ran out of stock but the good thing about sports footwear is that there are so many variations to test and scale. I had one good product which isn't available anymore. The one I am pushing now has many orders on Aliexpress proving its a winner.

As a drop shipping business there is no risk as there is no inventory to purchase. I will also provide 2 weeks email support for any questions you may have. I really want the new owner to make well over 5 figures per month profit on this store as the mass market potential is massive.

I will give the new owner access to the Facebook pixel and what audiences I found the best. I am completely new to Facebook ads and I know someone with more skills could do great. I also have a list of 100 people on the email list which I will give to the new owner. I just set up SMS Bump for abandoned cart which has only sent 3 messages and one already converted to a sale.

The website build and professional logo cost what I’m asking for the sale of the website so this is a bargain. The Shopify valuation is $1,020.

What's involved in running this business

fulfilling orders on AliExpress/Oberlo. Its very easy to do day to day. And I get very little emails from customers. I respond to customers myself so there is no need for a VA. Monitoring Facebook ads and social posts is usually looked at daily.

    Seller‘s Advice

    How to grow this business

I would start with creating a Facebook ad video. I didn’t have any videos to use just a photo that I got a graphic designer to make. Videos work much better so this would really increase conversion rates. Then I would scale the Facebook ads to increase sales. Next I would run an email marketing series to bring in sales for free. Then I would also start Google shopping ads. The sky is the limit to grow this into something really special.

    Skills to have

Facebook marketing would be an advantage but if I learned how to generate a profit anymore can.
