General description

Thanks for checking out our opportunity. Drop shipping is dying so if you are looking for a bespoke product this is the opportunity for you. Even better, it’s a consumable so customers order every month.

As passionate runners we recognised the need for a runner specific multi-Vitamin. With very little on the market we wanted to create something of great quality and lifestyle branding. After researching the right manufacturer and the right formula, Daily Tonic was born. The only liquid multi-vitamin for runners.

Liquid is awesome because it has far superior absorption rates, and we also chose the best source ingredients so the bioavailability is second to none. We KNOW we have a great product as we recently got blood tests done from one customer (brave move not done by many supplement customers). These showed the positive impact Daily Tonic had on his vitamin and mineral levels so any buyer will be confident they are selling a quality product. (These test results are available to be shared).

We started off slowly building a good customer base and traffic, but an unexpected emigration meant we took the foot off the gas (you can see on the graph the impact of our move in July 17) and can no longer give it the focus it deserves. We have also found although it’s an ecommerce business, being out of country has reduced our ability to leverage our running networks.

Luckily we have a small, core base of loyal customers who buy every month allowing the business to just break even. This is the big advantages of our product, the fact that it is required monthly. Most of our customers are on a recurring subscription and our repeat customer rate for the last 12 months (of which we were only active for 6) is just under 30%. One customer loved it so much he bought it for all three of his children also!

It just needs someone now who can increase the website traffic to get the product in front of more runners. The margin is also there to allow for wholesale which would be the a great way to grow profits. Ours is a good opportunity as just doing the bare minimum still sees you breaking even, so any effort will be rewarded.

Our sale price includes:
1. Daily Tonic product rights incl. the copyright on Runners’ Beans.
2. All photography
3. All social media leads/accounts of circa 3500
4. Email list circa. 500
5. 2000 labels

If purchased before October it will also include a few MASSIVE bonuses:
1. Existing website
2. Remaining inventory worth over $10,000. This inventory is due to be past it’s Best Buy date at the end of October so should be seen as a way to sample the product and offer introductory discounts.
3. A $3348 credit towards the first order if ordering with our manufacturer Matsun. This is an almost 50% discount off a minimum 800 bottle order.

If this has piqued your interest, please read on and ask any questions you like.

Financials and traffic

Average profit is an average for the last 12 months. Keep in mind, we have only been really working on it for six months of that time. As you will see if you are interested, we were hitting almost $1000 revenue prior to our emigration.

Profit margin is per bottle using the following:
Subscription price 10% discount: $35.99
Shipping currently provided free of charge (max): $10.00 - Wholesale maintains good margins because shipping would not be at a rate of $10 a bottle.
Fulfillment : $1.75
Trans. Fees: $1.34

As you can see, it’s a really healthy profit margin so wholesale is a great opportunity to explore.

Product is stamped with a date of manufacture of October 2016 and it’s ‘best by’ is 2 years. It is not a ‘do not use by’ date however, so can still be sold as a discount, sample sale etc.
Reorder cost is around $8 a bottle depending on quantity. We have several thousand labels to throw in at no cost if buyer is happy with current label.

NB there is a small error on the back of the label (supplement facts details) so our fulfillment currently puts a small over sticker over it. No one has ever complained or questioned it. Fulfillment house currently does this free of charge (they are great!).

Q & A

Why should someone buy this store?

With our store, you have a totally unique offer, not just an off the shelf formula or yet another drop shipping opportunity where you are just one of many available amidst a very cluttered market.

The running community is a fun one to be a part of so this can be a business you actually enjoy for what it is, not just what it makes you.

We have done all the hard work in making a great product with good margins. The right person now just has to use their knowledge of building traffic to get the product in front of runners who are always looking for products to help them run faster, recover better, or what we really hope, improve their overall wellbeing.

How can the future owner improve the business?

The only way is up for any future owner as we have a small core to ‘keep the lights on’ with zero effort. So if we were continuing it would have been to :
1. Get back engaged on Instagram
2. Reach out to running clubs and get involved in small running events.

2. Ensure SEO still optimised - it’s a niche market so with the right focus unpaid search traffic could be high.
3. Paid search - we trialled this but our page probably wasn’t optimised correctly to maximise the traffic we got.
4. Alongside traffic building, tackle the wholesale market, either in person, or finding the right distributors to work with.
5. Potentially expand the appeal to other fitness niche’s apart from runners.

What work have you put into the store?

The value in our store is the product and that is where most of the hard work has been. If you wanted to create your own product it would take at least 6 months (if nothing goes wrong) to create a bespoke formula, choose your bottle, create your label and do your testing. All this has been done for you, so you can put your skills (an investment) towards marketing not the product creation.

Aside from almost a year to develop Daily Tonic (many road blocks along the way) and copy right Runners’ Beans we have have set up a total hands off business. So, we have a great fulfillment house, printer, business manager all in Florida acting for us remotely.

To build the business initially we invested time into Social media - Instagram having most traction. We trialed brand ambassadors, went to two marathon expos, sponsored a podcast and did cross promoting competitions. All things worked to varying degrees and we would happily pass on all the learnings we have had to date.

How many hours does it take to run this business per week?
