Why this business was started

When I was a young mom, all of the elderberry products available in-store were crap. They were filled with refined sugars, contained very small amounts of elderberry and tasted disgusting. I set out to make an elderberry syrup that was organic, naturally-sweetened and, most importantly, one that my children would willingly take. I nailed down my recipe, and eventually started selling to friends and family. I posted about my elderberry syrup in a local parent's group and things quickly morphed into establishing a business with my state, outsourcing production and creating a brand.

This business is incredible. Our products are incredible, the vendors and manufacturers we work with are incredible, and this business will continue to thrive. We've got turn-key operations: contract manufacturing kitchens, a warehouse/shipping space (and employees!) in Seattle, and an incredible customer base with potential to expand both D2C and B2B business!

Production planning/management with commercial kitchens. Raw material ordering with dedicated suppliers. Marketing via social channels, e-mail. Shipping packages to customers (though could outsource to 3PL).

    The world of elderberry is ever-expanding. Elderberry product sales are projected to increase by 7% in the next 5 years. With the increased awareness of viral illness and many turning to natural solutions, Seattle Elderberry is poised to provide natural remedies to health-conscious families across the world. We are primarily a direct-to-customer business with an EXTREMELY high retention rate. Acquiring new customers should be the number one goal of a new owner. We have all of the infrastructure (e-mails, social, excellent customer service) to support customers throughout their wellness journeys. We do have some regional wholesale accounts with a large natural grocer, and expansion to more store shelves would be highly advised as our nationwide customer base is always eager to see our products on their local shelves.

    Solid marketing background, desire to connect with customers, understanding of elderberry and it's incredible properties. Bonus if you've got a good understanding of science and can help customers understand the education behind elderberry's success.
