Why this business was started
At the start of 2020 when lockdown hit the UK, I had a large amount of free time for a new project. I wanted to build a website that could scale into generating a large amount of passive income, so I took to researching endless amounts of products and suppliers, trying to find a supplier that allowed me to create a business that I didn't have to be massively hands on with in terms of order fulfilment etc.
After this research, I found our supplier and decided to build Sense42 into the Health & Beauty and Fragrance industry. The Health & Beauty/Fragrance industry is definitely on the more competitive side, but my goal was to create an enjoyable customer experience onsite whilst providing competitive prices on top label designer brands.
The reason of selling this business
I am selling Sense42 as my job as a website creator and designer is now complete. The perfect foundations have been laid for someone with the right skillset to come in and start turning Sense42 into the e-commerce giant it has the potential to be.
What's involved in running this business
Traffic is generated to Sense42 mainly via PPC, which consists of Google Ads and Microsoft Ads – both of these are automated to I rarely even touch the campaigns. Aside from PPC, organic traffic is building slowly and is actually already getting a few sales here and there. Once the traffic lands on the website, as we boast a strong conversion rate, users tend to convert at around the 3.5% mark.
The ordering, fulfilment and delivery side of the business are 100% automated, so there is no maintenance required there. When a customer orders a product, the order automatically gets send to our supplier, where they then package, ship and fulfil all orders.
The only thing that is needed is to answer customer service messages, to ensure a high level of service to keep customers and new potential customers happy – this includes refunds, questions and advice.
To attract repeat customers we run Remarketing campaigns on Google Ads which again require little to no maintenance. To increase repeat customers, email newsletters and promotions could be a good route to go down, or also Facebook Ads remarketing too.
Currently we are only listing around 2,500 products out of the 8,000+ available to us, so expanding the product range further is a task that could be done.
Things that could be done, that I'm not doing are: 1. Social media posts 2. Writing content and blog posts for SEO 3. Creating new graphics 4. Running PPC and/or any other Marketing 5. Looking for new products 6. Review pricing against competitors 7. Sending email newsletters and promotions
This is only a short list too, there are endless amounts of tasks that could be done but they are all optional, as the website runs automatically.

On the PPC side of things, I will provide again, up to 6 hours to get you to speed on our set up (Google Ads, Google Merchant Center, Google Analytics, Microsoft Ads), the campaigns we are running, how to monitor them and also how to expand them in the future. Lastly, I will provide 3 months of on-going support of up to 4 hours a month. This can be anything related to the website that you may need to know or have questions about going forward to set you up for success.

How to grow this business
Sense42 has already shown incredible potential, generating almost £30,000 in revenue in the first few months of operating. With the right management, time and care, Sense42 could scale to be a major player in the Health and Beauty industry – the foundations are laid and it now needs the right person with the right skillset.
Our method to grow Sense42 and drive high volumes of revenue was to drive traffic via PPC (Google Ads and Microsoft Ads), 99% of this was through our Google Shopping campaigns which have all been 100% automated using automated bidding strategies. This method has been highly successful and I'd absolutely recommend continuing it into the long-term plan as it's an incredibly effective way to drive revenue at a profitable rate.
Going forward aside from Google Ads, I'd recommend running Facebook Ads. If you don't have the skills in this, I'd look to either hire an agency or freelancer to run this for you as Facebook Ads when done right can also generate great success.
Alongside PPC, I'd highly recommend investing into SEO to increase the organic reach and sales. Again, if you don't have the skills here I'd look to hire an agency or freelancer. The benefit of SEO is that you don't pay for the sales, meaning you generate more profit per sale. The only downside is that it takes longer to gain traction.
Skills to have
We drove a significant amount of revenue via PPC, using Google Ads so PPC knowledge is something that would be helpful. All of the campaigns I ran were fully automated, so little to no hands on work is required apart from a few checks here and there and I am also including PPC training to get you up to speed. If you want to scale this side of the business but don't have the skills, I'd look to either hire an agency or freelancer.
For longterm growth and profitability, SEO is an area that would be good to invest in – so any SEO skills would be useful too.
Outside of Marketing, an understanding of e-commerce i.e. products, pricing and margins is something that will also be key to turning Sense42 into a profit machine. As a website designer, I don't have the experience here.
