Business Story
Why this business was started
This is an amazing turn-key opportunity, selling everything including inventory!
Priced below the Shopify Valuation, its priced to sell!
I started the business because I wanted to create a marketplace for apparel and accessories from Africa, as I made a business plan and realized that to build brand awareness I needed to design a collection. So after consigning some pieces in 2015, I was able to pivot to design and manufacture a collection in Kenya in 2017. I wanted people in the states to be able to purchase some of the amazing pieces that I was able to acquire when traveling throughout Africa. In order to do that I felt that I needed to design a small collection to give consumers a sense of the style and quality of the clothes they would be able to buy on the site. So I designed a collection and manufactured it in Kenya. The collection has a selection of dresses, shirts and robes that are versatile, trendy and easy to style in a variety of ways. They are all well made and with fabric sourced from Kenya and London. It's a very thoughtful collection, that got some good press and reviews of the product are solid.
The reason of selling this business
I'm moving into e-commerce consulting and strategy to put my years of experience to use for other brands that are more adept at creating clothes and products. I am not in a place to get the business to the next level, I can't fundraise for it or dedicate the right financial resources to it for it to grow and fulfill its potential. That is not my strength as an entrepreneur, and I'm not adept enough at sales to make it a success.
What's involved in running this business
This business is fairly simple to run and manage, it requires you to fulfill orders, create marketing campaigns, create product descriptions, run ad campaigns, and research other brands you would want to sell on the site or research creating other designs to add more inventory to the store.
I have updated the listing to include the domain name, branding assets (logo, etc) and social media accounts. I do believe in the name of the business and what it symbolizes. An Oasis is a fertile spot in the desert, where it fuels nomadic tribes for the journey ahead. For me I think of the Sahara, I find that the value of the business can be in marketing it in a new and fresh approach, with a new name potentially, but the name and assets are all included in the sale. The item that got amazing press, The Diani Robe, is almost sold out (only 3 pieces remain). The other items have strong reviews and would do well with a renewed marketing approach as well as sit with other inventory well. The Riara dress with pockets has been noted to do well given reviews and because of the complimentary cut, which can be done again in different colors as well as sold thru as merchandise. I think the apparel business can do well on its own with a new owner and someone who is better suited to handle the retail aspects of the business. I am not running any ad campaigns so there are no advertising expenses. And I can provide you with the mailing list subscribers, of those that have signed up via the website. I can download the list via Mail Chimp.

I can provide details as to where fabric was purchased, as well as the manufacturer. All the current inventory was manufactured in Nairobi, Kenya as a part of one specific collection. I'm happy to share, but I would believe going forward the new buyer may have different ideas about styles and fabric. As I was the one that guided and designed everything from the fabric choices to the design.Mailing List

Seller‘s Advice
How to grow this business
This is an amazing turn-key opportunity, selling everything including inventory!
Priced below the Shopify Valuation, its priced to sell!
The store and concept have a lot of potential. Authenticity, transparency and ethical manufacturing practices are big trends within the apparel space, and the store hits all those boxes. The women's apparel market is changing, and people are looking to buy from brands that are ethical and well made and this is it. The need for further brand awareness, updated pictures with a focus on marketing to the right audience, will take the store to new heights.
It would need further marketing support, ad buys, more content creation, and additional thoughtful investment in new inventory. I would focus on telling unique stories of brands and the owners/designers of those brands as you expand the platform. I would invest in another collection, buying other merchandise from other designers, and potentially working to crowd source some designs. I would create branded packaging materials.
I haven't been actively working on it for about 8 months, all you need is here to make it successful and drive traffic and sales.
Skills to have
The new owner should have a background in sales, with an eye for styling and experience with marketing and branding. I would suggest an interest in ethical fashion, but its not a must. I would hire some sales and branding support.
