Why this business was started
A common topic that generated a tonne of engagement inside of BBQ groups all across Facebook was skull shaped charcoal, however actual skull shaped charcoal was no where to be found. We decided to bring this myth to reality in a niche containing a passionate group of people who love to show off their creations. Skull Charcoal is a product that was already validated before bringing it to market, however it had very little (almost non existent) competition and we were lucky enough to find a charcoal manufacturer willing to co-operate.
Currently the business makes sales through 3 avenues. 1. Organic traffic to our main website (ranked 1 for main key words) 2. We have a partnership with Home Depot and drop ship for them from our warehouse. 3. Paid advertising to a Clickfunnels landing page that syncs orders with Shopify.
The reason of selling this business
Skull Charcoal has always been a side project for us. We own a software business with 2 thriving applications. We've got another one on the way and we can't give this business the time it needs to reach it's full potential.
What's involved in running this business
Managing social media content, emailing subscribers along with a steady flow of organic traffic generates a great amount of sales. The new owner can optionally run ads to take this business to dizzy heights. We have a fulfillment centre in the USA who manages all aspects of fulfillment. Customer support is relatively low for an ecommerce brand of this size and can easily be managed by a part time VA. The only other aspect of management will be to manage stock and ensure enough is ordered in time from the supplier.

We have received hundreds of enquiries from wholesalers and distributors from around the world this year. We have not actively pursued these prospects as we were focussed on a business to consumer model and not experienced with business to business, however the potential for growth here is high with enquires sometimes of tonnes of stock. We have also directed 90% of our marketing to the USA market. There is a big opportunity to expand into Europe and the rest of the world
