Why this business was started

Snoring is a $100 billion dollar yearly market. I stumbled upon snoring and sleeping products while consulting a notable healthcare brand on conversion rate optimisation. After doing my research I realised that treating snoring is still an underdeveloped market and set out to create a strong brand specialising in snoring and sleeping better. We worked with the suppliers and came with the first iteration of the SleepAero anti snoring device which works by pushing air through the nostrils using two mini fans powered by a lithium ion battery.

After developing the website, started with Facebook ads and had phenomenal success doing $100k revenue in the first year itself. To date Sleepaero has done over $250k USD revenue and over $50k of profit with majority of sales coming in 2019.

The reason of selling this business

I had to shift my focus towards Official Factory, my fashion startup (currently doing $1million+ a month ) and I'm just looking for someone who can take this brand to it's full potential.

Snoring and sleeping started out as a passion project which ended up growing so big that it started taking a lot of my attention. I can't divide my attention between my fashion label and the Sleepaero brand as well and as a result have decided to sell it. The brand Sleepaero is strong and can be scaled to new heights by venturing into the entire Sleep niche and this is what the buyers should be after. The price quoted is commensurate of the fact that the brand is strong along with successful track record of the products.

What's involved in running this business

  1. Virtual Assistant - One - Fulfilling orders, answering customer queries, managing social profiles, research.

  2. Copywriter (Optional) - For writing product descriptions, ad copies and mail content. You can also do it yourself.

  3. Graphic Designer (Optional) - I usually use [REDACTED] for my graphic needs. You can use fiverr if you want to outsource or find a full-time graphic designer.

  4. Paid Ads - I would strongly suggest doing it yourself.

  5. Content Marketing - Hire 1-2 content writers from freelancer at a cent a word and get them to write 1000 word content every 3rd day.

    How to grow this business

    In my opinion SleepAero has the potential to be around a $10M USD brand in the next 3-5 years depending upon execution levels. Here's what I would do to grow it from here:

    1. Content Marketing - Having gained considerable growth through paid advertisements, the next frontier to capture would be content marketing. Publish frequent and contextual content for your audiences i.e. people who snore or have trouble sleeping. Not only will it help engage your audiences, it will also pay off in google organic traffic as well as branding.

    2. Email Marketing - With over 4000 orders and 10,000+ Email list, there's huge value to be unlocked by engaging subscribers over email. Send them daily dose of helpful content, funny stories, testimonials, holiday sales etc. This will help build consistent revenue besides organic traffic.

    3. Re-energise Social - Create new social profiles on Facebook, Youtube, Pinterest, Instagram and post regular content to grow your followers.

    4. Paid advertisements - Restart paid advertisements to Google Shopping, Facebook, Google search, Bing ads to drive highly converting traffic quickly.

    5. Introduce a new range of products - I can put you in touch with suppliers who can whitelabel whole new range of products from cpap supplies to anti snoring products and ship it directly to your warehouse or customers on your behalf.

    As you grow, you will be able to unlock new value channels in terms of recurring customers, word of mouth publicity and virality.
