We saw an opportunity to bridge the digital to physical worlds of social media with offering businesses a chance to advertise their social media presence. Specifically, their own social media URLs via custom decals. Our first big customer was qdoba--many of their locations have our decals on their entrances.
The reason of selling this business
I've not had the time to put in the marketing efforts to make this site successful.
What's involved in running this business
When orders come in: Pick, pack and ship out the decals. When stock of a particular decal runs low, we order another batch. The real efforts at the moment need to be focused on marketing of the site and probably amp-up the google ad spend.
We have a wide variety of decals for Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, YouTube and more. Our social media decals are produced using a formula of polymers and layering making them reusable and easy to install. Our decals do not bubble while being installed. No tools are required.
The three included domains: 1) SocialMediaDecals.com 2) Social Media Clings [dot] com which forwards to SocialMediaDecals.com 3) Social Media Offline [dot] com which forwards to SocialMediaDecals.com
Our first order was on 3 Nov 2010 for $35.95. Prior to Shopify, we ran the site on ZenCart and had a total of 1302 orders totaling more than $30,000.
We migrated to Shopify with our first order on 22 Jul 2017

How can the future owner improve the business?
More effort into marketing. We have a good base with social media and google advertising. We'll include the MailChimp account with over 2200 contacts (including previous customers).
What work have you put into the store?
We do emphasize customer service with each order including a hand written thank you note. We make great efforts to ship same-day as the order has been received.
