Business Story

Why this business was started

I started this business when I was in college to sell tee shirts and caps to my friends and not have a job while I was in school. I grew up without much money so my parents couldn't support me through college. I started this company to provide a pillar throughout college. The company was aimed to be like my friends and I, fun and comfortable.

The reason of selling this business

I have decided to sell it because I cannot devote the time and effort that it needs to be successful. You can see the effort I put into it over the summer months when I had a break, but heading into my career I don't have the time I wish I had with the company. I want it to transfer into good hands instead of letting it die.

What's involved in running this business

Running strategic and engaging marketing. I didn't get into the influencer trend, which should help with its success. Monitoring ad performance is key to not paying too much in advertising. Finding freelancers and a tee shirt printing company to produce the material will be key to getting new designs made.

This business was founded: about 2 years ago
Time to run this business: approximately 10 hours per week

General description

This Southern-themed clothing store has HUGE potential. I am a college student and I don't have the time I want to put into the marketing and sourcing of new products. It has unlimited potential as we were one of the first ones to the market with Southern-themed clothing. Southern Cotton Apparel has physical inventory. We have multiple retail locations and thousands of followers on social media. As you can see, sales keep going up each month and has not reached its full potential yet. I have built the whole business by myself and I know all about the industry and the business itself. I am able to help out after the sale of the company where need be.

Why should someone buy this store?

This store has unlimited potential for growth if given the proper time.

How can the future owner improve the business?

The future owner can source more designs for the shirts. The brand needs to be introduced to more states other than Georgia.

What work have you put into the store?

I have put over 3 years of on and off effort into the store.

    Seller‘s Advice

    How to grow this business

I would learn more about social media marketing because that's the direction that all businesses are headed.

    Skills to have

You should be flexible. There are different times of the day that you should be able to work. Don't always work 9a-5p everyday. People respond better at different times.
