Business Story

Why this business was started

I had the idea for waterproof earbuds for quite some time, and so I did tons of product research and scouring the internet for understanding about this field. I eventually found some suppliers with amazing products, and great reviews, chatted them up and got their approval to brand them. Gave me the idea to create this simply because its something I have been wanting since I was a child. Which whenever I start a business I start them based on things I value or see would want, and naturally something with potential of branding and expanding. Like every great business owner has said, Jeff Bezos, Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, you need to be passionate about what you are doing or you won't have the power to see it through, and I have found that to be very true. Don't chase a trend, create the trend.

The reason of selling this business

I have 5 brands in total and 5 other businesses I want to integrate into, I know what it took to build the ones I had and have currently, and I also know how to read potential, this is one of those businesses where it will take more time than I have currently not to mention I have a very large idea that will take my full attention and eclipse this one, I'm aiming for billionaire status in the next 5 years, and have a very detailed plan for how to get there. This also is one of those times where I figure someone who needs a bone could use a business like this to learn and transform their lives with, if you are smart or at very the very least, knowledgable about brands and e-commerce then you will see the potential in what you can turn this into. I'm selling 3 of my brands and putting 2 on automation by putting two of my right hand team members as CEO of them, while I focus on my newest endeavor.

What's involved in running this business

I explained most of it in the prior paragraphs, but I'd say 2-3k in ad-spend and some e-com ingenuity, and imagination, like I said I would be happy to still give you some of my ideas along with strategy I have used in my successful brands, and just the way to go with this one in particular.

    Seller‘s Advice

    How to grow this business

(Price is negotiable but you will see why its 40k) Well this store has enormous scaling and long lasting potential. Its a niche product in a completely new field of interest and genuinely I think it will be worth millions. I think the best thing to start with this brand would be to go the YouTube and Facebook ads way, but more YouTube. Also I would especially see the biggest possible return of investment if you go influencer marketing, not small ones either I mean large influencers. We sent a pair to David Dobrik as a test run and so far we have great feedback, I also have connections with other YouTubers and Streamers and even a few actors and producers along with other ecom "gurus" who have noted the potential. I spoke with my suppliers too and they have done alot of the hardwork for you, they have the best ads you are going to find and I even spent thousand of dollars myself creating some. The potential could seriously be beyond what any other ecommerce brands are doing at the moment if you build correctly and have a clear strategy. I can give you everything you'll need along with continous feedback and mentoring if you need it, but I would say if you are a beginner that I hope you have done your homework because this is a big leap for you, but I'll help the best way I can. My team and I spent months building this and setting everything up we possibly could. The social media has nearly 10k in following and we also have done no Facebook ads or ad testing as of yet, and we have sales from organic traffic and continual traffic to the site everyday. Its seriously a hot product and niche, and we put a bit of our soul into this. I wanna make sure whoever I sell it to can see its potential and has a goal in mind. Our products are also already in stores and we have testimonials along with professional shots and videos for social proof.

    Skills to have

Knowledge about branding is more important than general ecom knowledge I would say. The field of dropshipping and ecommerce as a whole is changing every single day and you need to be on top of things, you also want to keep in mind that you are not just selling products you are selling an idea behind your brand, this is what separates you from your competition which this niche already has few of as is. I would also say if you know what you are doing then 2-4k should be enough to scale this to 100k the first month, 500k the following month and then consistently at 1 million. But in my experience and any other business owners, is that customer experience comes first, continually adapt the store, continually keep up with the audience and the suppliers. Try to reach for the sky with this one, this isn't just a neck massager or a moon lamp even though, those products sold well, this is about creating a loyal customer and name in an industry where no one has dominated yet. I also suggest if you don't have a team then look into somehow getting one, doesn't have to be a large one yet but at least someone to help with fulfillment, someone to help with customers and someone to help with the marketing side. You could even pay Virtual assistants as well they are fairly cheap, but for sure vet them to make sure they are good at what they do, it will pay off later. And finally after one good month I would say to get the products in your hands for in house fulfillment, this will do two things: 1. You can get custom packaging this way to help with branding, and two you can create way faster shipping times, especially if you are fulfilling out of the U.S. Remember again, its about the customer experience, 100k turns into 500k by repeat customers and word of mouth. Last but not least, Chinese new year is coming towards the end of February, production shuts down, my plan for you to counteract this is hit January hard, which if you do can easily do 100k or more that month, around the very beginning of February instead of taking a pay cut, use that money to order in bulk and get custom packaging too, this way you are still ahead of the competition when they have to halt production. In a nutshell, be proactive and innovative, and diligent.

My name is Nate, I'm a ecom expert and business mogel from Chicago, IL. I've been in ecommerce for almost 5 years now starting in 2016. In my span of time I've created numerous stores and failed numerous times, each learning a better lesson than the last. In the past I spent around 5k in courses but through trial and error I now have got the formula down a science I'd say, and I continue to evolve. I now have a holding company that I started in 2018 where my team scouts different potential profitable ecom niches to build sustaining brands.
