Split is brand that was created for dog walkers and runners. The main product is a running leash system which attaches to the owners waist. From the adjustable waistband, a bungy like resistance leash with two handles attaches to the dogs collar or harness. (See Product Pictures on website) We are also testing a full range of running equipment including activity watches, water bottles, and dog harnesses.
The name Split comes from the synonym “to go.” Secondly, the “Split” leash allows the human to split the exercise with their canine friend.
Our branding on social has been about getting dog owners to go more. Most dog owners don’t take their dog everywhere they could because it’s inconvenient to be holding a leash and manage to keep their dog close. Marketing has included working with influencers taking their dogs to pet friendly grocery stores, lakes, and of course on trail runs.
I opened the website back in May on 2018 and I invested most of my resources into creating the highest quality of content for the site. I worked with 2 product photographers to get the best lifestyle shots for my budget.
As you know, the site has not lived up to its sales potential. The reason for this is due to unfortunate financial circumstances. I was not able to invest in Facebook ads the way I had originally planned. I believe there is a massive audience for this product which could turn into a trend with the right amount of exposure.
