I decided to start this business selling fun socks because it appeals to everyone of all ages and genders. Everyone wears socks, and therefore a low-ticket product that has an emotional appeal made it easy to market. I picked humorous and unique socks that consumers cannot find in stores. The low price coupled with emotional sales allow these socks to be the perfect impulse buy!

I started this business with the goal of selling it in mind, and the time has now come where I am looking to cash out of this successful store and move onto my next big idea.

The daily activities involved in running this business is mostly running Facebook Ads, which can be automated given their automated rules or a service, such as Reveal Bot to scale and kill your ads for you. Alternatively, the marketing can entirely be outsourced to another company and then this business would be entirely automated. Once orders come in, they are placed in bulk through an app called DSers (an Oberlo alternative) and then paid in bulk on AliExpress. Order confirmation and shipping notification emails are sent automatically with tracking information and there's no need to handle inventory! It's a very simple business model that is built to be able to scale quickly and efficiently.

    Over the next five years, the ideal way to grow this store would be to continue promoting it on social media in the form of Facebook (and Instagram) Ads. In conjunction with this, using an omni-channel approach would help grow it faster by using the email list to retarget customers for recurring revenue along with using other advertising platforms, such as Google Ads or Snapchat to engage even more potential customers. Due to the size of the brand, word-of-mouth also goes a long way to get sales from free promotion, so honing in on the customer experience would be another ideal way to help grow this to a household name brand.
