Why this business was started

I decided to start Adventure Camping as I am an avid Hiker / Camper myself and noticed the potential gap in the market for cheaper but high quality camping equipment. I have started several dropshipping businesses in the past including; sport and fitness, kitchenware and wanted to use my passion as a base.

The reason of selling this business

I have unfortunately been forced into the decision of selling my business, after taking my dream job role with the police force and unfortunately they will not allow any other sources of income. It really is that simple, but I do wish to sell it to someone who can develop it to it's long term potential.

What's involved in running this business

Tasks involved with running this business are very minimal. Once you have set your ads to your preference, added any products you may want if you are not satisfied with the current offering, it is really only down to placing orders for stock with the agent in china which is done via text on skype, fulfilling orders via dropship china which is done by pressing 3 buttons and that is it. Other than that the business will run itself.

Other details about profit: The dip during the summer of last year was due to me deciding to advertise on Amazon instead of Shopify. It was doing exceptionally well until Amazon raised their prices and it was no longer worth using them. The last few months I haven't spent any money on advertising due to me selling. The money that has come in is simply through recommendations and brand awareness as no marketing has been done due to the sale.

    How to grow this business

    I am only selling the store due to taking a job role with the police force and unfortunately they will not allow any other sources of income. So, if I was to have carried on with the store, I would continue using facebook ads as they are a great source of income, as well as branching into YouTube which I was planning to do during the summer. It is a reliable store at worst case during January breaking even and the rest of the year makes profit up to $10,000+ in certain months. The store comes with a private shipping agent and stock management in China so that is settled in terms of developing the sourcing and shipping, therefore, different marketing tools would be the best area to look to improve.

    Started Adventure Camping over a year ago seeing a gap in the market. I found that during the first couple months of testing different products and their success, the stove was massively successful and more recently so the titanium camping mugs also became a top seller. I ventured into Facebook advertising having used it with success during other ventures. It really took off and the business was running. During the summer I ventured into amazon (hence the low sales) but came back after cost increase to greater than ever sales revenue.
