Why this business was started
A couple years ago, my good friend Victorine asked if I wanted to take over her stamp business called Victorine Originals. She had become a NYT Best Selling Author and running the business was losing money for her since writing pays her much better. I took it on to test my marketing knowledge with a business outside of writing. I've developed a deep love for the stamping community and I adore bringing them new art to create with. In two years, I expanded the business by buying out the Raisin Boat line of photopolymer (clear) stamps, forming the SumMore Fun umbrella company, as well offering a few monthly clubs.
The reason of selling this business
Last year, I began developing health problems. As I was unable to work as much, it became clear that the people I had helping me could not continue the business if my health deteriorated suddenly. My customers deserve a team dedicated to them and their art. I am going to continue doing some aspects of the company, but I need to let go of the Victorine Originals (red rubber) side of things.
What's involved in running this business
The portion of the business I am selling is the Victorine Originals line. In this business, the following duties are involved: Manufacture red rubber stamps using a hydraulic press (Supplies and equipment included in the sale). Mount the stamps according to customer specifications. (Mounting supplies and equipment included in the sale). Ship the product to the customers. Marketing. Design new products. Create new relationships with craft stores and consumers.

How to grow this business
What has worked best for me is focusing on the newsletter list. I have done several large expos as well as smaller, local events which helped get new subscribers. My newsletter is where the majority of my sales come from. I have relationships with influencers in the crafting industry, and have seen some results from working with them on social media, but the newsletter was the best. I am not willing to hand over my list as I will still be interacting with them for my monthly cubs, but I will dedicate at least 5 newsletters to telling my list about the buyer and asking them to sign up for the buyer's newsletter.
I would also focus on finding people who could handle most of the day to day tasks so I would have time to develop a YouTube presence. In crafting, videos are king.
Skills to have
A new buyer needs basic knowledge on using machinery. Knowledge of marketing is very helpful.
