Sweet Lupine is an online ethical fashion marketplace/ boutique. We carry products that are made in America, fair-trade certified, handmade, cause-based, and eco-friendly. The majority of our clothing inventory is made in America, and all of the jewelry is made by independent designers. Apparel made outside of the United States is fair trade certified or made under fair labor laws; nothing we carry was made in sweatshops.
What really sets us apart is our price-point. We have worked hard to curate a collection of ethical fashion that is affordable. Working with smaller sellers and independent makers has allowed us to compete with "fast-fashion" lines and provide a service that is greatly needed in the slow-fashion movement, affordable, sustainable fashion.
A typical Sweet Lupine customer is a cultured, creative woman between the ages of 25 and 40 who has a natural curiosity for the world. She appreciates her wardrobe as an expression of herself and desires a collection of unique, fashionable, comfortable and affordable clothing and accessories.
Sweet Lupine meets a NEED in the market. The demand for ethical fashion is gaining momentum by the day, particularly as millennials look to use their purchasing power for good. However, there are very limited options for people who are looking to shop ethically, but cannot afford a $100 sweater. Sweet Lupine is their answer. Additionally, there are very few ethical fashion marketplaces (online stores that carry more than one line/brand). Sweet Lupine also meets this need.
We have a loyal following of women who are passionate about ethical fashion and who want to be a part of the solution to cleaning up the fashion industry. We have high traffic numbers (TOP 16% of stores that opened the same week we did), and SUPER HIGH CONVERSION RATES (5.12% among an industry average of 1.75%). (See screenshots below for Shopify evidence). These women are our customers and our champions - spreading the word in their communities and online. We had several women write to us asking to be ambassadors for our store, but we didn't have the means/manpower to create an ambassador program. However, that would be an easy way for the new owner to grow their advertising.
The foundation for a successful store is here, we just need someone who has the time and marketing resources to take the shop to the next level.
Marketing. Sweet Lupine needs someone who is dedicated to spreading the word that ethical fashion can be affordable and that Sweet Lupine is the answer. We only ran a very few (maybe 2) social media ad campaigns over the last three years, increasing marketing and advertising will be critical. Social media / e-marketing is not my strength and I feel certain that improvements in this area will lead to huge gains in profit.
Additionally, the shop needs someone who can dedicate more time to the growth of the business. Over the last three years, a health concern sidelined my ability to work, and recently new endeavors have taken priority, so I have not been able to spend time building the shop.
We built this store from scratch- name, logo/branding, website design, inventory sourcing/stocking, e-mail list growing- we've done it all.

Sales varied significantly by quarter, with the vast majority of sales made in Q4. Additionally, a personal health issue prevented me from working for several months, so you will see our sales varied significantly (we did fulfill orders during this time, but did nothing else for the shop).
