Why this business was started

I bought this business from my friend because he decided to do a high ticket store, the sales have increased by about 4 times since i bought it from my friend a few years ago. The business started around August 2017 and has been going for nearly 5 years.

The reason of selling this business

I have decided to sell because I am planning to move overseas and it needs to be run from Australia to be really successful or if you have someone who can handle australian sales. The store does sell worldwide but most sales are to Australia. I also am very busy with my other business ventures and don't have the time to focus on this store.

What's involved in running this business

Accepting sales after checking their validity Talking to customers to confirm things such as sizing and other issues Ordering from our suppliers, this is a dropshipping store but we do hold some small amount of stock. Checking emails and keeping store wesbite up to date The time dedicated to the business I put as 15 hours which is the total time needed if you were running it all yourself and not using an ongoing contractor as I do. The contractor does basic customer service type tasks and adding products, for more complicated website tasks you can just hire a specialist from time to time if you dont have the skills.

Other details about profit: Please keep in mind that the profit is much higher over the past 3 years then it was in the first few years of this business, but because of the requirements on marketplace it is calculated based on its whole history as opposed to how it currently performs. All you have to do is look at the performance data graph and you will see what I am talking about. Also this business can be run by a single person most of the time, I am so busy that I get someone to help but running it yourself you would not have much contractor expenses. The store is seasonal and so gets alot of orders around april to july and not as many during hot moths in Australia.     99 percent of the sales for the life of this business have been from organic google/ direct traffic so if you want to grow the business I suggest the following strategies. Update the SEO to improve it much more. Do email marketing, we have done virtually none and this usually converts well, the store has over 2500 email subscribers. Do social media marketing and google ads, we have done hardly any and it has big potential Improve the landing pages and shopping experience.

    Skills to have

    The owner could run the store themselves if they know how to use a shopify store, and know how to do customer service via email and facebook. If you also know how to use instagram that would be good, this store will get sales even if you do zero paid marketing, in fact most of it sales comes from doing no paid marketing at all, hence it has big potential if you decide to do paid marketing.
