Business Story

Why this business was started

The Pepper Police was started because we recognized an opportunity and a market for spicy food consumers who would benefit from products that were specifically formulated to extinguish the burn caused by chili peppers. We wanted to create new and exciting products that would be fun to use and consumers would enjoy in a variety of different settings. Our professional backgrounds were very corporate so we wanted to build The Pepper Police brand with a fun and humoristic approach where our consumer base could really relate to our brand, experiences, and overall products.

The reason of selling this business

We're looking for an investor(s) or company with the proper resources, distribution channels, and experience to bring The Pepper Police to full fruition. The Pepper Police is a startup that was recently launched in December 2018 and has no true track record of sales quite yet. Under the proper leadership, experience, and resources, The Pepper Police is poised for massive ROI given its unique position in the beverage/CPG industry. We've invested 5 years of time, resources, and intensive effort into building The Pepper Police and believe now is the right time to step away and transition ownership to a better suited party.

What's involved in running this business

The Pepper Police was intentionally built to be operated and managed anywhere anytime - it is entirely cloud-based including eCommerce site, sales channels, accounting, and remote contract workers. Our current sales channels include Shopify, Amazon, eBay, and social media channels as well as wholesale orders through QuickBooks Online. We use 1099 contract workers for everything from eCommerce management, graphic design, social media management, back office admin/data entry, and website development/management. Google Drive is used to store all of our business documents and files for ease of access.

    Seller‘s Advice

    How to grow this business

Massive marketing campaign targeting popular social media influencers and shows (i.e. Hot Ones). Target hot wing restaurants including Buffalo Wild Wings and Wing Stop. Make our product synonymous with spicy foods. Appear next to spicy food products and hot sauces on Amazon (focus on PPC, rank increase, and product display). Attend any and all hot sauce trade shows, expos, festivals, and events (perhaps use brand ambassadors) as well beverage industry shows. Focus on retail channels as well as domestic and international wholesale opportunities. Break into international markets. Sell and appear alongside other hot sauce websites. Increase visibility and accessibility through B2B marketplaces including Alibaba, Amazon business, BevNet and RangeMe to name a few. Focus on developing additional product lines, improving existing formula and flavors, securing IP, and adding accessories & apparel. Collaboration with Coca-Cola/Pepsi - possible acquisition/merger. The opportunities for growth and strategies for expansion are virtually limitless and there for the taking!

    Skills to have

There is no specific skill or knowledge that the buyer needs to possess other than a basic understanding of eCommerce management. All systems/platforms are already integrated and it would be a seamless transition of account ownership once transaction is completed.
