Business Story

Why this business was started

I was sick of seeing the same boring clothes at every boutique. I wanted to start a brand that celebrated ALL women with fun, bright and unique clothing and accessories—clothing and accessories that almost challenge women with, "can I really pull this off?". Hell yes you can! We also put a lot of effort into helping Plus Size Women. More than anyone, Plus Size Women see the same boring tops over and over.

The reason of selling this business

I'm going to be very vulnerable here. I went through a faith crisis in June 2019 and that consumed a majority of time for a few months and took away from my focus on the business and changed my perspective on life; I'm not as money driven as I once was and really want to simplify and focus on a few things versus trying to do a lot of things.

What's involved in running this business

We currently have a shipping manager and social media manager that are both contractors and flexible if needed.

We work with a handful of suppliers, that I'll make introductions to. They align extremely well with our brand and pus size.

We're currently not running any advertising campaigns. My husband is the Chief Product Officer at Disruptive Advertising, who is a top advertising agency for both Facebook and Google, and can share more details on what has worked in the past. Facebook was at a 4x ROAS and Google was at a 3.9x ROAS (screenshots below).

    Seller‘s Advice

    How to grow this business

We grew the store initially by leveraging the owners social media following as well as working with other social media influencers. Social Media Influencers have been a strong foundational marketing piece, and we've turned our top influencers into affiliates—I would continue to leverage Influencers and Affiliates. I would continue to leverage ads on Google Ads, Facebook Ads and Pinterest Ads. We invest a lot into content and social media marketing. We haven't done a ton for SEO to date, but I think that'd be a great pillar to focus on.

Branding and focusing on our customer has been critical to our success. Continuing to stay on brand will help tremendously.

    Why use Exchange?

Exchange is the largest and fastest-growing marketplace for Shopify e-commerce stores

    Verified listing data

The revenue and traffic data that you see on each listing is pulled directly from its Shopify account. This means that the data has been verified. Exchange reviews and monitors listings for thorough and accurate information.

    Secure messaging platform

You will be able to communicate with sellers via a secure messaging platform. After you log in and request information from a listing, sellers are notified and have the ability to respond. When you are ready, you can make an offer.

    Encrypted payment capture

Exchange and Escrow.com have partnered together to provide you with safe transactions that have bank encryption, making sure that payment is securely captured. Escrow.com ensures that its users pass verification checks before transactions can proceed.

Take time to inspect the business

Once you submit payment to Escrow.com and the payment has been secured, the funds are held until you confirm that all assets received are as negotiated. You can use the inspection period to ask the seller any extra questions about the business.

    Safe store transfer

When the transaction is finalized, the dedicated migration team at Exchange will begin the process of making you the new owner of the store. Buyers and sellers will be notified via an email from the Exchange team once store transfers have been completed.

    Post-purchase 24/7 Shopify support

Once you log into your Shopify account for the first time and choose a subscription plan, Shopify Support Gurus are available 24/7 to help you with the settings of the store.
