Business Story

Why this business was started

I wanted to build another source of income while the pandemic was occurring to bolster the losses with quarantines, stay at home orders, etc.

The reason of selling this business

I need to focus all of my energy on my own photography now that things are beginning to open back up. Time and focus are needed for any business venture, and I want to place my focus on my first love, photography.

What's involved in running this business

Fulfilling orders from shopify, over to oberlo, and finally in Aliexpress. Researching photogrpahy products to add to the store that are both profitable for you and useful for the customer. Ad campaign testing and execution are also a must! The facebook pixel is key to understand your customers, which I've spent a lot of money to narrow down to one evergreen ad that has at least a 3.25 return on ad spend

Time to run this business: approximately 10 hours per week

    Seller‘s Advice

    How to grow this business

    1. Build a larger social media presence and dedicate time to get accounts to over 5K likes or follows on FB/Instagram.
    2. Create a better ads to display the product. The current ad has and is still making money on Facebook and Instagram, but a new ad depicting an influencer using products would be a gold mine.
    3. Integrate better email automation. I've BARELY used email to get sales, but I feel that is an opportunity I haven't really scratched the surface of yet.

    Skills to have

Need customer service skills, need to know how to use Facebook ads, need to understand metric to imperial conversions, and just need to have fun!

    Javan W.Current store owner
Hello! I am a photographer who decided to do dropshipping as a form of residual income during COVID-19 while business was down. Now that things are slowly beginning to pick up, I realized I am not as enthralled with dropshipping as I once was and would like to focus my attention on my photography. During the month of August, I have zeroed out all ad spend to decrease traffic to the store as I am currently on Paternity Leave.
