Why this business was started
I started this store as a side-project as I was looking to get into a new industry and build an online brand. It was also a hobby as I am a Steampunk fan myself so choosing on a niche was easy. Steampunk is a very passionate niche with massive potential for growth. There are plenty of unique products in the apparel, jewelry and clothing line that attract a very passionate audience that LOVES the style. With such a variety of products to offer, opportunities are endless. I have put a lot of work into making this store unique by creating catchy descriptions for nearly 100 products that tell the story of this fun niche and give the store its unique voice.
The reason of selling this business
For me this store has been a side-project and a hobby. At the same time, my main business has been growing rapidly and I am looking to put all of my energy and focus into taking it to the next level. As a result, it is getting harder to manage The Steampunk Cave without hiring additional team members. I have put a lot of work into building this store, styling the pages, optimizing for conversions, search engine optimization, building a social media following, running ads - I really hope the store ends up in good hands.
What's involved in running this business
The store did over 14K in revenue in March 2019 and most of it was done with 1 product that we advertise on Facebook. I will share our ads and dropshipping suppliers we worked with. The main work involved is managing the ads, fulfilling orders, replying to customer emails and maintaining social media presence. I have mainly focused on Facebook and Instagram ads so far, however there is definitely room for expansion with Google search and shopping ads.

How to grow this business
If I was not selling the store, I would start marketing new products via Facebook and Instagram ads as well as putting more focus on Google ads. I would also start growing the Instagram page, which I haven't had time to do. In addition to that, the store has over 900 email subscribers and I haven't done ANY email marketing campaigns so far due to lack of time. Email campaigns can be EXTREMELY effective in generating sales, and this option so far has been untapped with this store.
