Business Story

Why this business was started

Because I couldn't find any cross fit gloves that just provided grip, and for the rest stayed out of my way, allowing me to be fully mobile and not wear out my forearms whenever I wanted to do pull ups. On top of that I noticed that gloves targeted at cross fitters were massively overpriced, so I wanted to jump into a gap on the market, design gloves that were minimal, provided lots of grip, and were profitable below €25 a pair.

The reason of selling this business

I have a full time job, do crossfit, and also a spoken word artist. In the coming year I will be involved in a few amazing spoken word projects and I simply won't have the time that TheFitGrip needs to grow. I truly believe that the company could grow massively, so I want to sell it to someone who can actually invest the time in doing so.

What's involved in running this business

To be honest not much, at a minimal level I spend a few hours just processing orders when they come in. Because I currently don't have the time to really run the store it's been ideal. However, in order for it to grow you'd have to spend a few hours a day at least going into marketing, or contacting corssfit boxes/sellers to see if they'd take the gloves onboard.

    Seller‘s Advice

    How to grow this business

Currently, I have been focussed on The Netherlands, which is a small market, and crossfit isn't the biggest here. I didn't have a lot of money to invest in marketing and expansion. What I would do over the next few years is expand to Germany and France where the market is bigger, and also invest more in Social media and marketing.

I am an industrial designer and crossfitter who after trying over 15 pairs was done with the terrible gloves on the market. They either contain a lot of padding, which forces you to squeeze harder, or they tie around your wrist, getting in the way during most movements (in the worst cases, both) and the prices were ridiculous. I decided, having studied how to create products to solve problems, that I could do better. And so I made, designed and setup TheFitGrip out of my own pocket with no investments from anyone else.

Exchange and Escrow.com have partnered together to provide you with safe transactions that have bank encryption, making sure that payment is securely captured. Escrow.com ensures that its users pass verification checks before transactions can proceed.

Take time to inspect the business

Once you submit payment to Escrow.com and the payment has been secured, the funds are held until you confirm that all assets received are as negotiated. You can use the inspection period to ask the seller any extra questions about the business.

    Safe store transfer

When the transaction is finalized, the dedicated migration team at Exchange will begin the process of making you the new owner of the store. Buyers and sellers will be notified via an email from the Exchange team once store transfers have been completed.
