Why this business was started

I decided to start this business, because I wanted to try out drop-shipping. I wanted another source of income, so I decided to start this on the side, and it become my main source of income. Additionally, I was always interested in home decor and home accessories. I realized that there was a gap in the market, as I could not find many online stores with innovative and affordable products within this niche.

The reason of selling this business

I have decided to sell this business because I am getting into my last year of University, so I need to focus on my studies. I feel like this store has great potential, and if I don't put in the effort that is needed, it will go to waste.

What's involved in running this business

Firstly, fulfilling the orders. This can be done using Oberlo or sending them to suppliers directly on excel. Currently, for the best-selling products, I send the orders directly to the respective suppliers. Secondly, running and monitoring social media advertising campaigns. This is an essential part of the business, and constantly monitoring the campaigns is important to the success of the business. Another form of marketing that has worked, is email marketing. Lastly, continuously adding products to the store is a great way of expanding. I have already sourced quite a few products, which I have added to the store's Oberlo account and which will be passed on to whoever is taking the store over.

The drop in revenue as shown in the graph was due to COVID-19. I decided to stop operations for a few months due to the pandemic, which had an impact on the revenues.

    How to grow this business

    The growth for this store over the next couple of years can be exponential. A few ways this can be done by are: continuing to build a brand, changing the drop-shipping model (i.e. having inventory in order to reduce shipping times), and creating a custom brand experience like packaging. Also, another way to grow the store is by building the social media platforms through influencer marketing.
