Business Story

Why this business was started

In the past, I've tried to keep my toolbox organized with foam liners that I cut by hand. Using an X-Acto blade, it took me hours and the results were often choppy at best. Pick n Pluck foam tried to solve the problem but you are left with a Minecraft looking block of your tool area. It's the year 2020 and there has to be a better way?

As a mechanical engineer, I set out to prove that custom foam inserts could be made affordably and easily just by taking a photo! Using the latest in automated software and precision cutting lasers, I developed a process that allows everyday people and businesses to create affordable inserts that perfectly outline their workspace. Tool boxes, kitchen drawers, product packaging, and displays cases are all areas where TraceMySpace brings order to chaos with just a photo!

The reason of selling this business

I own and operate other businesses and don't have the time necessary to fully devote to growing and expanding this concept.

Other details about profit: All efforts to date have solely been on improving the process of accurately converting photos into vector files which can then be cut on a laser. This process has gone through many iterations to a point where it is now repeatable for a new owner. No effort has been made to market or advertise the business other than posting a few photos and videos on social media.

    Seller‘s Advice

    How to grow this business

YEAR 1: - Learn more about customers wants. Sell direct to end users and listen intently. - Launch FaceBook, IG, and possible YouTube ads (Marketing Agency in place) - Test selling to a few smaller manufacturing brands i.e. SnapOn - Determine most profitable verticals (tool boxes, gun cases, parts kits, kitchen drawers, etc) and focus on 1-2

YEAR 2-3 - Continue to refine the top 1-2 vertical markets from info gathered in first year - Build market brand recognition as TMS a leader in inserts for that market - Invest in outside sales and trade shows to target key verticals

YEAR 4-5 - Vertical markets are well identified along with key customer base - Increase marketing/production as owner sees fit

Grow large or keep it small, we believe this business has many options depending on growth path of new owner.
