At the beginning of this year I knew I needed to either get a job (I'm 73) or start some kind of business, something I could do from home preferably. There were a lot of advertisements for E commerce so I started listening to the webinars and decided that was for me. The only drawback was it was going to cost $2,000 but I bit the bullet and away I went.
I listened to all of these classes over and over again so I could understand and, hopefully, apply what I learned which was not easy as I hadn't pushed my brain that hard in a long time. Technology is not my thing. I was an interior designer for 23 years and work mostly with the right side of my brain,. Retaining these lessons were giving me gray hair day by day but I stuck to it. I needed this very badly as my husband is turning 78 this month and recently found out he has kidney cancer and will also need open heart surgery within the next year. He has been working part time for the last few years to bring in some extra money to live on besides our social security. Now within this year there will be no more working and no more extra income.
I developed a children's clothing store with over 500 products: JUMPING JELLYBEANS FOR [REDACTED] which was very challenging for me because I had to put the clothes in categories as to sizes for babies, toddlers, teens in both boys and girls. Took me months to get it all right but it is perfect now and ready to go. This is a drop- ship store so you don't have to worry about inventory. The process is very easy once someone buys something. Just sign into your account and order the product wholesale. Ali Express will send the product to your customer and tracking is very easy.
I have advertisements set up with Facebook Business where you can determine the amount you want to spend for advertising per day and how many days you want to run your promotion. Instagram is basically the same and ready to gol Pinterest is fun because you can see your products every day and promote or just add to your pins. I had started to get them on Etsy but this is when I finally decided I just didn't have the time or energy left to advertise. I have thousands of likes and shares but i have only advertised for the last couple of months as we spend so many days at doctors offices or the hospital. I continue to get likes even when I don't advertise so that is a plus.
This is a beautiful store and I know it will bring in great dividends if a person can work it. Makes me very sad that I have to sell but time sometimes is not on our side.
