Why this business was started

I bought this company a couple of months ago from exchange because I really liked the product and the potential. The profit margins are great, the product is a digital illustration and can make added profit from posters, the value added is in the personalisation. Highly recognisable and people love the product! We have people leaving great reviews and emailing us telling how much they love it and how they will be coming back for another portrait.

The reason of selling this business

I am deciding to sell the business for a couple of simple reasons. I work full time and I have a couple of other businesses on the go which to be honest I enjoy more and are more geared towards my future plans. I'm currently also cutting my commitments to focus on my favourite projects and my personal life.

What's involved in running this business

The main job for the owner is to run ads, oversee your team and send artwork to printers for posters if brought by a customer. Orders are automatically synced with Trello. Artists get email notifications once they have a new order waiting for them to draw. Once they finish the order either you or the VA sends an email to the customer with the digital illustration. The VA also deals with all customer emails and could deal with the poster side of operation.VA is paid by time tracking software.

All admin could be ran by the owner but a VA could help with fulfilment.

    How to grow this business

    The following points below are ways the new buyer could grow the store. -Expanding art styles (I have a full list of art styles the artists have confirmed they can provide as well as an art fulfilment company which can be added to fulfil more orders if needed.) -Rebranding the logo etc to a more original design to accommodate the additional styles and make it easier to advertise. -Adding non custom evergreen products to the store such as birthday cards and Christmas cards. -Streamline the poster service by adding a print shop page on the website.

    Instagram account was deleted but could be started again focusing on all the art styles not just one style.

    Skills to have

    Basic knowledge of Slack for communication, Trello for order fulfilment/management, Gsuite (Google mail for business) and basic Shopify skills and of course Facebook ads / google ads.
