Why this business was started
I decided to start this business to explore drop-shipping. This was my first site ever built, and I proved the concept very quickly. The free + shipping model works like a charm when running ads. It turns a profit on the lowest amount of effort possible in today's online marketing.
The reason of selling this business
I want to sell the business because I am no longer interested in the niche. I also have too many other similar projects I'd rather focus on. If I had more time and more interest to build this business, I would. However, I don't and I'd rather give it to someone who can give it more attention than I can.
What's involved in running this business
All the above: Fulfilling orders, ordering from suppliers, researching product niches, and running advertising and marketing campaigns. This business is very new. It has a positively tested POC, and is not outsourced to anyone yet. If someone has the time to dedicate to building up those processes, then it could be a great cash cow.
Business is a small drop-shipping store that operates in the men's watch niche. There is a lot of potential to build this business, and expand both deeply and broadly within the watch niche. For example, there is a lot of accessories that watch enthusiasts constantly look for in maintaining their beloved watch. It is a passion niche, which is resilient against seasonality. The business also comes with a proven POC having sold a few items on the site with VERY minimal advertising on Facebook. I also ran a short giveaway that grew the customer base to 500 customers - this is great data to continue marketing to with email and product-lead growth via adding more complimentary products.
Why should someone buy this store?
Someone would buy this store for two reasons: Begin their drop-shipping portfolio with a concept that is already proven and able to generate revenue immediately. Or B, add this business to an existing portfolio of complimentary businesses as the data is valuable for that aspect of growth as well. This business is very-low risk when it comes to generating money via online marketing.
How can the future owner improve the business?
I would grow this store by continuing to leverage paid social media on a continuous basis - as I only did this with small budgets as a test to see if the want/need from an audience even existed. This can also be expanded with adding new products to advertise as well as optimize conversion rates with upsells in carts at check-out. I started to do this with ClickFunnels, but I believe there are Shopify Apps that can mimic the concept for a lot cheaper. I would also lean heavily into content marketing and SEO to help grow organic traffic to feed remarketing traffic tactics. Lastly, I would also work with suppliers on creating a more evergreen mutually exclusive deal on products - this can only be done once you have a somewhat steam stream of sales to negotiate with. I wouldn't mess with the brand, as that seems to be the strongest marketing asset as proven by the little success during such an early time in the business.
What work have you put into the store?
Very minimal work. I built the site from the ground-up, as well as the branding. It was built for a free + shipping model, and tested over Facebook ads to develop a base audience to continue to grow from the data generated early one.
