Why this business was started

My daughter and I started Unicornabilia because she wanted to pursue an entrepreneurial career and achieve financial independence. She loves teen fashion and all that is pink, glittery or rainbow related. The unicorn aesthetic captures that vibe perfectly. We did some research and found there wasn't a unicorn-based brand that was well known then. There was an opportunity to become the most recognizable unicorn-themed brand, which we have in effect become. We developed Unicornabilia-branded products and our audience loved them. We quickly grew to 80,000 Instagram followers. We continue to firmly believe in the future potential growth of this brand and business.

The reason of selling this business

Two years into the process, my daughter had a change of heart and decided to go back to school (college) to pursue an academic career. While I fully support her decision, I have other business interests and no time to run Unicornabilia, unfortunately. After all the work put in to establish a solid foundation for growth, the business has sadly been neglected over the last several months, running in "auto pilot" mode, and we feel it's best to sell it to someone who can devote time to re-ignite it and take our vision to the next level.

    We are proud to have developed a powerful brand (registered trademark), attractive products and a very interested audience. We've built a very solid foundation for the business. What the business needs to grow over the coming years is primarily marketing. In particular, ongoing SEO development (including blog articles and back links), e-mail marketing and well-managed Google Ads campaigns and Amazon advertising campaigns.

    You don't need to be a specialist in anything to run a branded store, but you need to be willing to learn a bit of everything.

    More importantly, you need to be passionate about we stand for. We are not really a unicorn product brand, but we are unmistakably and unapologetically in love with the unicorn aesthetic: rainbow colors, glitter and pink. Lots of rainbows, glitter and pink! Our products reflect this passion. It's not the unicorn, it's the "unicornability" that matters to us. For us, pink is not only a color -- it's an attitude; rainbows are magical; and all that glitters is fun! Rainbows, glitter and pink are key spices in the magical sauce we sprinkle on our products to inspire girls and women, particularly tweens and teens. The goal at the end of our rainbow is to encourage you to express your best self in a way that makes you feel positive, inside and out.
