Description

General description

Vesta Patterns is a unique home sewing pattern company, offering two main styles that have been tailored for three distinct body shapes, so the seamstress can begin with a pattern that matches her proportions more accurately. The "A" shape is intended for women with pear-shaped figures, the "E" shape is intended for those with the straight or "banana" figure, and the "S" shape offers a built-in adjustment for those with a large bust size. There are two main styles, further delineated into the three body shapes listed above: the Grail t-shirt pattern, which offers two neckline variations and three sleeve variations, and the Fable Dress, dirndl-inspired dress pattern that features a full gathered skirt, pockets, and a princess seamed bodice.

Why should someone buy this store?

The home sewing industry is in a peak revival, and with just a bit of additional marketing effort, these patterns can absolutely find a strong footing. The physical patterns have an exuberance and quality of material and information design that is completely unseen anywhere else in the market. The business was recently featured in By Hand Serial magazine: https://www.byhandserial.com/

How can the future owner improve the business?

Aside from some much-needed advertising efforts and some improved product photography, the business is pretty much turnkey. The future owner has plenty of room to develop further styles and issue them with frequency. The Fable Dress pattern can be published as a printed version which could be sold individually or wholesale.

What work have you put into the store?

I designed, tested, and graded each pattern, devised the size charts, brand identity, logo and playful flavor of the company. I designed, printed, and hand-assembled all the packaging. I even have shipping materials perfectly sized for each type of order and congruent with the brand identity. The MailChimp list has about 350 subscribers. There is one existing wholesale account.
