The reason of selling this business
I am reluctantly listing my business for sale as with a new business opportunity, I no longer have the time spare needed to push this business forward and achieve the high potential it has been showing in recent months. I would love to see this business flourish under my ownership but this is no longer possible so I am looking for a new owner to take over and give it a new lease of life. Until the sale of my business, I will still be using my spare hours to keep the business running profitably ready for new ownership.
What's involved in running this business
Under new ownership, this business would be adaptable to meet new demands and launch new collections to help push the business forwards. Therefore, the day to day running of the business would also be changing from it's current setup to suit your needs and preferences. The brand name Vice Versa is included with the sale however if you wanted to restructure the branding then this poses a great opportunity for you to create something that is unique to your personal taste/vision because of the solid foundations already in place.
Currently we design in house, before purchasing most of our custom designed stock from a UK supplier. We do however, also make small amounts of stock ourselves to cut costs where possible. We will provide all supplier information with the business sale, including all of the clothing design work so you could continue making some/all of the same collections which we currently sell on our store but current stock holds will not be transferred as we only hold minimal amounts of stock. Designing new collections and bringing out new clothing/apparel will be necessary to keep moving the business onwards and upwards so you may chose to design new clothing yourself or hire a freelancer to do this for you (personally recommend Fiverr).
Alongside this, minimal work running the social media accounts would be required. We currently focus all of our efforts towards our Instagram page as we feel this is a much better platform to promote and sell clothing than any alternative. We do run a Facebook page but this is only for advertising purposes so only has a very small following of loyal customers, with only mirrored posts from our Instagram account. Posting to Instagram with our large and expanding audience is a great way to generate organic sales, so you would need to keep posting new content and engaging with the target audience to produce new leads. Minimal photography knowledge would help to maintain high quality posts, while Photoshop skills can help to give posts a professional edge.
Finally, in terms of generating revenue we have been focusing our attention towards bringing in organic sales to keep costs to a minimum and help grow a self sustaining, profitable business. To keep running this business profitably you will need to continue guerrilla marketing alongside paid advertisements. Recently we launched an ambassador program where aspiring Instagram influencers sign up to be a part of the brand and if accepted, purchase an item of clothing for their own personal promotion. The influencer then promotes our brand with their own unique code to earn themselves commission for any of their generated sales. This scheme has deemed very helpful in bringing in good running revenue and free organic advertisements to new potential customers without any additional work. It's also offers you time free Instagram posts from the aspiring Instagram influencers/models. We now have over 100 ambassadors actively promoting our brand and bringing in 100% organic sales. All however are non contracted meaning you could change or retire the program entirely if you decide to. Full details of our ambassador program will be included in the business sale if you chose to continue with the scheme.
Personally if I was taking over and moving this business forwards, I would be looking to keep growing and expanding on the ambassador program already in place. This will help to keep generating more leads and increasing brand exposure, while still earning you a steady stream of revenue. Although the business is currently based in the UK, the store was designed to be relevant in any desired country, offering built in currency conversion and international shipping links.
