**PLEASE NOTE- This Shopify data/traffic is only 20% of our business volume. The remaining 80% of our business is primarily on Etsy.

Wayfaren is a niche, boutique brand built on the beauty and a love for travel. We sell handcrafted and travel-inspired items for the modern traveler. Our products are thoughtfully designed and carefully crafted with the highest attention to detail to provide our customers a place to hold onto their greatest memories, built with the quality to last a lifetime. Over the years we have clearly established ourselves as the high quality, premium handcrafted travel products in the market.

This winter will complete our 6th year in business, with 4.5 of those years Wayfaren being a full-time endeavor for us as a husband and wife team. This business started as a creative outlet and passion project after we saw a gap in the market for a well-designed, modern Push Pin Map, and quickly grew and expanded beyond our wildest imagination to a multiple six-figure, consistently profitable, and nearly debt-free company.

Only in the last 2 years did we open our independent Shopify store which compromises only 25-30% of our annual revenue, our primary revenue coming from Etsy (70-75%). Our products are now listed on four platforms: Shopify, Etsy, Amazon Handmade, and Houzz.

Our keepsake boxes and maps are all crafted by hand in our wood shop in house from start to finish (all made to order). Some materials/products are outsourced such as our travel journals and the actual maps themselves, however all customization is as well done in house with our Laser Engraving machine. Although, our brand is centralized around travel, I would note approximately 50-60% of our keepsake box sales are for other purposes (wedding card boxes, baby boxes, memorial boxes etc) Wayfaren product creation, order fulfillment, and shipment is done out of our studio/office and wood shop in Dallas, TX with our team of 3-4 employees.

The business is moderately seasonal with peak production hitting in the 6 weeks before Christmas and the month of May (Mother's Day, Father's Day, Graduation).

Since our launch we have handcrafted 8,500+ orders and collaborated or been featured with companies such as Hulu, HGTV, Starwood Hotels, PushPay, Adimab, Upward Magazine, The Village Church, Dallas Theological Seminary, and countless professional photographers.

As well, we have committed to partnering with a non-profit, The Her Initiative, working to put an end to the global water crisis. To date, we have donated close to $25,000!

There is such a HUGE potential for growth and success with Wayfaren moving forward. The only reason we are looking to sell the company is that relationally the business has been very hard on our marriage and in this season we are need to put that relationship over the business. With the right person that has the knowledge, capital, and resources, the opportunity for product expansion, revenue generation, creating more diverse streams of revenue, and improving operational efficiency with Wayfaren is limitless.

Although putting the business up for sale has been an incredibly trying decision, we decided to end up listing the business for two reasons. 1. Relationally, as a husband and wife team, Wayfaren has put a strain on our marriage. We hope to set ourselves up for the most success by moving into a new endeavor. 2. Long term, we really would like to be in custom furniture and woodworking classes, and unfortunately we do not see Wayfaren seamlessly fitting into that vision.

How can the future owner improve the business?

As we have a young family and have also chosen to run our company debt free for the last 6 years, our ability to invest in growth strategies has been somewhat limited, and at times intentionally so. The right person could significantly improve profit margins with operational improvements, labor analysis, and material reassessment.

As well, we have done little to no advertising with Wayfaren thus far (95% of sales coming from organic traffic and search), other than very minimal targeted Facebook/Instagram ads and Pinterest. With some investment into targeted advertising, SEO, and systematic marketing, there is the potential for hundreds of thousands more dollars in revenue.

We are looking for someone that not only has the talent and resources to improve the business operationally and logistically, but as well someone that catches our vision and hopes to maintain the same level of excellence in product and customer service as we have for 6 years.

What work have you put into the store?

We have put our hearts and souls into this business. What started out as a creative outlet and passion project, quickly and unexpectedly grew into a full-time business for us. Every inch of Wayfaren has been grassroots and learning as we go, including learning the craft of woodworking, 100% self-taught.

We have put six long and very challenging yet rewarding years into this baby of a business of ours and it has been a joy to watch it grow, evolve, and flourish. Countless nights without sleep, overflowing and working out of our home for the first four years, switching career paths completely to pursue this business full-time- the sweat, grit, and heart that has put into Wayfaren cannot be measured.
