A fully functioning drop shipping business in a niche market.
I have been in business a few years now and have a successful handmade business with Etsy/Shopify.
I set up this store whilst learning/following a drop shipping course, and it was always intended to be sold once up and running.
The sale includes a great domain name [REDACTED] within a popular niche category, and a Facebook page with c1000 page likes.
The drop-shipping model is all set up and connected to Oberlo and is predominantly aimed at cow themed gifts but also incorporates other animals also.
The store has only been live for 1 week and has had 1 genuine sale (3 altogether - but 2 of these were me checking the process was working).
Whats included? Domain, Facebook page, Pinterest account, Instagram account.
I am selling this so I can use my skills to concentrate on my handmade business and also to pursue a new business model.
This store is ready to go and has already had a sale within 1 week of opening. This sale was gained organically through google search. This is a very niche business therefore will be found easily on google search and with a bit of the right promotion it will provide a passive income.
How can the future owner improve the business?
The next steps would be to find the right audience through a series of Facebook adds with a/b testing. Also incorporate other popular animals into the 'other animals' section - example mermaids/sloths/unicorns/llamas etc.
Decided whether to continue with the free shipping model in place now - or charge a nominal fee.
Review the automated email flows in Klaviyo and amend/add to them.
What work have you put into the store?
Researched the best niche where there is regular traffic searching for the search term cows, but also have a section for any other animals as they go in and out of popularity - ie sloths, unicorns, mermaids, llamas etc.
Pulled together a strong branding which is pleasing to the eye and clear what the business is for.
Chosen and purchased the domain name. www.weheartcows.com.
Set up a professional email address email@example.com.
Created a store within shopify with all sections completed - including shop policies/returns/terms of service, contact us, shop collections (with automatic selection) menus etc and optimised the shop navigation.
Designed the store, including some researched free apps - there are some apps which will in the future incur fees - however, this will be when the store gets more visitors.
Created a Facebook page and advertised to get likes - as social proof - currently almost at 1000.
Curated a great collection of items for sale with a large mark up for profit - these are through Oberlo so easy to remove/add.
This includes an account with Just uno which will capture email addresses with a pop up and exit intent and is lined to Klaviyo.
Klaviyo account has been set up with some email flows created.
Aftership account set up with tracking landing page.
I have edited the shops language to optimise.
How many hours does it take to run this business per week?
I started my 1st business 3 years ago and have been hooked since, learning everything there is to know about SEO, marketing, social media photography and Photoshop - My new focus is on setting up a passive income business which will allow more flexibility in life.
