Why this business was started

I wanted to start this business as a way to learn more about e-commerece and entrepreneurship. I enjoy street wear and retro styles, so I tried to mould my store around that look. I also wanted to increase my skills regarding re-design, brand selection, and social media postings.

The reason of selling this business

I have decided to sell, instead of completely closing down, as I believe the store has a great potential to do very well. However, I have been admitted into a post-grad and will be focusing on my other business, which is service-based. Due to my time constraints, I think it would be better to have someone more knowledgeable take-over and make something great out of it!

What's involved in running this business

Knowledge of Shopify and Shopify apps is a MUST. Some apps are already integrated and running and some were in the process, so the ability to navigate and work with them is important. I was using Oberlo, Aliexpress, and Spocket for the dropshipping portion; and ionos and omnisend for email and domain use. Facebook and Instagram were my main source of advertising, as well as positive word of mouth.

I have photos from a shoot I did with a model and photographer that were never used - I can give over these images, but they are unedited! Photographer DOES NOT need photo credits.

    How to grow this business

    The plan for the store was to get more quality based products from USA, Canada and the UK with faster shipping times. I wanted to make it into a more retro/vintage look to niche it out. There were plans to add in a men's line that focused on a retro and hip-hop look. Facebook ads were about to be implemented with a giveaway, but never got to it so there is ample opportunity.

    Skills to have

    Facebook ads would be a good skill to have with this store - it is the prime way I had gotten my first e-mail subscribers, and had I continued, the store would have more customers. 1-month on facebook ads will get you the sales you need.
