Business Story
Why this business was started
It was a Saturday afternoon and there I was sitting in a cafe with 3 failed dropshipping stores and trying to pick the perfect niche thats going to make me millions.
After hours of research, I found a very interesting niche called "Yoga Leggings". I know what you are thinking, "What's so interesting about yoga leggings? Its a very common product and literally every person in this world sells it".
Did you know that there's not even a single brand in the United States that sells Yoga Leggings for under $50? If you don't believe me -- You can google it and see it for yourself. The average cost for a pair of good yoga leggings will cost you a minimum of $60.
That's when it hit me, With the right messaging, design and branding. I can actually make good money with this niche. That's when The Blessed Yogi was born with a USP that said: "Quality leggings that won't break the bank". Today, We also sell Bracelets, Malas, Tank Tops and Yoga Sets.
The reason of selling this business
I am not going to bullshit you by saying that I am moving on to new ventures and shit! I am a very lazy guy (Trust me, I'm working on it). I am good at designing, branding and a bit of marketing.
But when it comes to Customer Support, Social Media Management and delegation -- I procrastinate a lot and in turn, I piss off every single person involved in the process. What I am trying to say is, I am just bad at the things I mentioned above.
When I first started, I only got around 20 to 30 sales per month. So there wasn't much to do with Customer support but for the past 6 months I have been getting around 200-250 sales per month and hence I also get tons of customer emails every day. Frankly, I am completely exhausted responding to these emails.
Another reason why I am selling Blessed Yogi, I always wanted to start my own clothing brand. You know those Tees or Tanks that actually mean something! I hired a designer with the profits I made using Blessed Yogi and I will be launching the brand by the end of May.
What's involved in running this business
Let's start with the supplier, We use Oberlo, Aliexpress & Spocket to fulfil orders. All the product pictures, specs are provided by the suppliers itself. If there's any issue with the products, You can raise a dispute using the Oberlo or Spocket app itself.
Marketing: I built a sales funnel which includes Instagram and Facebook Retargeting ($100/month). This is the same funnel that helped me generate $4000 in revenue every month for the past 6 months. I would be happy to explain to you how the funnel works if you are up for a 10-15 min Skype call.
Social Media: We mainly use Instagram as our Social Media Platform as Yoga is extremely popular on Instagram these days. We post once every day. Our Instagram also has a profile aesthetic and I suggest you maintain the same as most of our followers like it. Also, All our Instagram content is generated by our customers (UGC).
Blog: Believe it or not, This has been one of the major tools for building the brands image. The best part is you don't have to hire someone to write the articles at all. All the blog posts are written by our customer and 99% of them do it for free. Like I mentioned before, I would happy to explain to you the whole process and scripts I use for this if you are up for a 10-15 min Skype call.
Email Marketing: Even though we just started collecting email a month ago, I suggest you still send out an email every week about a blog post or a fun yoga tip. I strongly suggest against sending sale related email every week as it may result in people unsubscribing from the list (This happened to me with my previous stores).
To wrap this up, You will be spending anywhere from 15-20 hours every week to run this business.
